It’s all going on if you are a manufacturer of wristbands at the moment, many of the young people I work with have got them, with the most popular one being the black and white anti racism one.
Here is a guide to the colours and themes, they are a great conversation starter, so why not get one yourself, unless you are a big as me and then you run the risk of cutting off the blood supply to your hand! A risk I am currently taking for the sake of youth ministry!
Yellow: ‘Livestrong’ The original created by lance Armstrong – has now sold over 21 million
Blue: Anti-bullying, anti-Bush vote, tsunami relief, prostate cancer
Pink: Breast cancer
Red: Heart-disease, vote Bush, anti-tobacco, HIV
Purple: Cystic fibrosis, lupus (also orange), domestic violence
White Make poverty history, right to life
Orange: Asperger's, self-harm
Grey: Diabetes, brain cancer
Black & white: Racism in football
Green: Ecology, leukaemia, organ donor
Gold: Childhood cancer
Black: Mourning, melanoma
Great guide, I'll link to it.

There is another black one, Die Hard- It has no meaning apart from the one you give for wearing it. Can be found on some extreme sports sites.

I think bands are great, much easier to wear than ribbons. In Panama we have at least two of our own bands. Red is support for the national soccer team and blue is pro-integration of the handicapped.

Can anyone tell me where I can get some different wristbands, as I want to show my support, but don't want to be part of the "Livestrong" bands crowd. I think they are all great, but I want to be a little different!

Good idea and i think the bands are a much better way of raising money. But has anyone got an idea where you buy them from? or more to the point where they might be available, not sold out, other than the net? espically the pink breast cancer ones

I would like to know where I could get the Orange one for Asperger's sydrome; I have looked over google, but I was wondering if there were any offical sites?
Posted by: Charlie | March 16, 2005 at 06:36 PM
you can go to places like nike outlet stores, those sell livestrong by the bulk, and my mom works at an elderly care facility, called fairhaven, like a retirement home for those who can't always take care of themselves on their own, they sell relay for life (purple), breast cancer (pink), and if you go to limited too, a little kid type of clothing store, the sell tsunami relief ones (teal) there.
